Okay…

My parents reaaaaally want me to update here, so here you go.

Wednesday was seniors’ last day of school. So I basically have summer vacation now, the only thing remaining is the actual graduation ceremony. I went to band class today because I wouldn’t do anything fun at school anyway, I needed to bring my flute home and I miss all my lovely band people! We are playing Pirates of the Caribbean for graduation and it’s going to sound so good… I am so making Veien & Helgerud play that next year. We can do it.
Tomorrow is my open house.. I have it with Minji (Host sister), Zuli, Pie, Lucas and Patricio. All exchange students! It’s going to be so much fun, people I don’t see that often will come there and also people from school etc. I am really excited.

What else is new.. Just enjoying actually being able to sleep in from now on. No more getting up at 6 AM! Oh and my parents are coming in like, five days or something. Which is really exciting.

I went to Canada in the beginning of may for quizzing. It was awesome. Got 2nd place, played Canadian bowling (Five pins!) and went to Niagara Falls. Picture: http://photos-586.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v79/190/6/505152586/n505152586_70165_377.jpg

And of course we had prom! I went with Eric. http://photos-948.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v71/190/6/505152586/n505152586_51948_9907.jpg

So I have less than a month left.. So this might very likely be [one of] the last updates on this blog. Oh well, sorry for not updating more! But I had an amazing year.

Summer?! Not really…

Updated: The three last pictures are three different pictures now, haha.

It’s getting warmer and warmer outside, and I have a feeling of spring. Or actually, more like june – summer. But then I hear people saying it will snow next week, and it will thunder tomorrow.. The weather is not easy to understand.

Spring sports have started, and I’m doing track, running short distances like 100 m and stuff. I don’t expect to win anything at all, it’s more to get in shape and get to know new people. My first practice was today and I got so exhausted. Probably not a good idea that I had quizbowl practice and ate pizza and drank pop right before I went to practice either.

I am so excited about thursday, it’s the premiere night of Grease, the musical our school has. A lot of people I know is in it, Emily, Eric, Katie, Kenzie, Zach, Victoria, Aaron etc.. It’ll be a blast, I just know it!

Also we have a quizbowl tournament this saturday.. I think we’re going to do good! Quizbowl is like, random trivia questions in teams of five. Bunches of fun.

Lucas’ birthday party was on friday. He turned 17, yay! So we went bowling for three hours and one of the rounds I got like five strikes, must be something with American bowling alleys.

What else? I have some pictures this time!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v22/tuftejenta/IMG_7517.jpg

From youth group last wednesday. Lucas got birthday cake in advance and Zuli and Anna were just joking around with him, putting it on his nose instead of in his mouth, heeh.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v22/tuftejenta/IMG_7402.png

We went sledding outside church on Valentine’s day! Bunch of fun, but it was also cold, I drove right into Min Ji (She didn’t move! ;) ) and Emily fell right on her butt, aw!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v22/tuftejenta/IMG_65141.jpg

Washington D.C.! Outside the White House. 1st row (l-r): Joe, Patricio, Paul, Isaac. 2nd row (l-r): Emily, Pie, me, Lucas, Eric, Nathan. 3rd row (l-r): Zuli, Min Ji, Leaf.

Another picture from D.C. Taken from Lincoln memorial and you can see the Washington monument in the background! Pie, Min Ji, Leaf & I.

This picture was taken at youth group last wednesday too. 1st row (l-r): Min Ji, Eric, Joe, Nathan. 2nd row (l-r): Charlie, Micah, Paul, Isaac, Matthew.

Hope you enjoyed this!

Time flies by..

Seems like the weeks between each update just increases. I’m sorry but I guess there’s just a lot going on here! I’m having tons of fun.. So I also have a lot to tell. Don’t know where to start, honestly.

We just started a new semester, a couple of weeks ago. I changed some of my classes so now my classes are: Band, Chemistry I, Accelerated English II, Pre-Calculus, AP History, Economics and Spanish I.

AP History is one of my new classes. AP stands for Advanced Placement and it’s definitely more challenging than the US History class I used to have. But if you take an exam at the end of the year and do pretty good, you get college credit and stuff. And yeah, it’s just more fun and interesting than the old class. So I really like it.

In church I’m doing something called bible quizzing. It’s so much fun and this year we’re doing the book of Acts. You sit on benches and a quizmaster asks questions and you jump and finishes the question and then answer it. You also quote verses and just.. Yeah. It’s tons of fun. We go to a quiz each months, and I’m on a team with Caitlin and Emily. Last month was an invitational which is kind of a bigger quiz that lasts two days. We put our two teams from Pleasant Hill (My church) together and we actually got 3rd place! I guess it’s because the other boys team from PH are so good.. Like, Eric and Paul know everything. We’re in the experienced division and then there’s the rookie divison (Which I’m supposed to be in, but I wanted to be on Emily and Caitlin’s team) and they got 4th place, I think. So yeah. Quizzing definitely takes up a lot of time because it involves lots of studying. I had some pictures of us with the trophies but I haven’t uploaded them yet.

What else? I got nominated for honors band. I didn’t even know what it was when Katie told me but we (The ones nominated) go to some place for a day and play some stuff and it’s apparently really fun. Band is a lot different here, I mean, we play every schoolday! And we’ve played jazzband and stuff, actually, it’s kind of scary, improvisation is so not my thing. Haha.

I’m trying to think of other things to talk about.. It’s awful how things slip my mind when I’m actually writing about them. I guess I’ll edit this or post a new entry with the pictures. Miss you guys, please comment! I love comments. Haha.

*everyone gasps*

I am back! I haven’t updated in seven weeks. Dude, that’s pretty bad.

So everything is going wonderful. Kind of hectic since it’s Christmas and all, but I have all my presents, just need to wrap them. Me and Min Ji have to do some Christmas card writing but that’s it, I think.

I’m on my third medication in four weeks now. First it was a sinus infection and I got antibiotics, then I got an allergic reaction because I’m allergic to penicillin! So I had to go on steriods (haha!) so the rash would go away. And now I have a rash, again. And it’s worse, it itches so bad. Haha. The doctor thought I had strep/scarlet fever but she took a test and it wasn’t. But she doesn’t know what’s wrong, so I’m just on another medication. Oh well, it’s not a big deal.

A couple of weeks ago we had a ball on our school, Snowball. That was awesome! I went with Eric and had a great time. The DJ was probably the worst ever, but we still had lots of fun. And I have some pictures that I hope you guys will enjoy.

Here are we again and Pie, Leaf, Min Ji and Emily, they also went out to eat with us!

At the restaurant. We went to “Los Tequilas”. Around the table: Me, Eric, Zuli, Nathan, Leaf, Nics, Anna and Min Ji.

http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/3448/img5819lv9.png
Thursday we had a winter concert with the bands and choirs at the school. I’m the only flute in our band (The junior high has like a gazillion) so I was prettyyy nervous. But it went well and I had fun.

Also, the children in the church had a Christmas musical and me and seven others were in the “movement team”, we did movements/dances to some of the songs.

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1589/img5878ar4.png

We had t-shirts with names and everything! Pie, Zuli, Min Ji, me, Anna and Emily in front.

That’s it, I think! I hope you all enjoyed it and I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Bon Noel, God Jul, all that stuff. And hopefully it wont be that long ’till the next update! Oh and I got a cell phone and I would love if people called me so just ask my parents or something for the number, haha. =]

I guess it’s time for an update.

Everything is going amazing, as always. I bring you three photos this time! Wee!

Yesterday we went on a hayride. It was tons of fun, I have never done anything like that before.  Then we had a bonfire with “hobo stew” and singing around the fire. Then it was a movie night where we watched Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. It was really, really fun!

Pictures from the hayride:

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1300/img4684eb4.png

This is Wyler, Zuli, Joanna (From Germany!), Lihn (From Vietnam!) and then you kind of see Patricio, Lihn’s host mum and Min Ji. Then the guy with the hood is Bryant, and then there’s Pie and Nicks.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/4805/img4687kx2.png

This picture is funny. I told them all to look at me and then Eric and Joe are both looking at… something else. Katie just looks scary, and then there’s Emily. Hehe.

This is from my dream college. Bethel College in Indiana. I went there today and it’s just an amazing school. I really want to go there.

I have to go now because I have spent way too much time online, eek. I’ll try to update sooner next time!

:]

Oh, that’s just great. I wrote a pretty long blog and now it’s gone. Ah well.

It was snowing here. This Wednesday. In October! I woke up and saw large flying snowflakes outside our window. And guess what we had to do in band? Go outside and march. So, my Norwegian band-friends, when we start marching in April and you think it’s kind of cold, do not, do not come and complain to me!

We had a home game yesterday, it was lots of fun. It was really freezing though and people had like blankets and ten layers of clothes on. But we won, 43-0! So it was amusing to see the cheerleaders trying to do 43 push-ups and just bowing their head slightly at the end.

I got my grades too, what they are so far.

Band: A+ (I think everyone gets that though.)

Chemistry: A

Acc. English II: A-

US History II: A

Connections III (Math): A

Government: A

Spanish: A

 Wee!

I have to go now, to eat breakfast. Today we are going to Cedar Point, this awesome amusement park, with other exchange students. I’ll post pictures some other time. Miss you all!

Hace frio!

Please keep in mind: This blog is open to the whole world and lots of my relatives come here. If you have something personal to say or a comment about something in the blog that you know I don’t want my relatives etc to know, please, e-mail me. thekidwithchemicals@gmail.com. Also, let me know if you want me to notify you when I update here!

Here I am again! This week has been quite busy. It’s homecoming week, so people dress up and stuff. Monday was 50’s, tuesday was 60’s, wednesday was 70’s, today was 80’s and tomorrow is purple-and-gold-day (School’s colours). I’m wearing my hoodie, which I bought last week! It has Bronson and it has the viking on it.

We’ll go to the game tomorrow, and then to the dance afterwards. Hopefully it’ll be fun!

I’m also looking forward to See You At The Pole next wednesday morning. Teenagers all around the world gather around their schools’ flagpoles and pray. Afterwards, we have breakfast in the parking lot.

I’m probably dropping Marine Biology because I really, really don’t like that class. It’s nothing like I imagined. And I talked to Jenni, one of the youth group leaders and she said I should join the Band, because they have no flutes! So hopefully I will and then I’ll drop Marine Bio and have English in that period instead.

And I bring pictures!

This is my youth group which I meet with every wednesday night, sunday morning and sunday night. They are all so nice. From left to right is Solano, one of the leaders, Danielle, Anna, Charlie, Micah, Paul and on the couch in front is Nathan and Eric. I have such a great time with these people.

You guys wanted a picture of me too. And here it is! Eeek! With Pie, at church.

Dinner last sunday. It was so nice. We had semolina pudding (semulepudding!) for dessert and everything. From left and around the table; Marilyn, Min Ji, Bill, Sue, Pie, Zuli.

That’s it for now. I appreciate all kinds of comments, long and short! And I miss you all. :]

Pictures!

Yes, I know you have been waiting for this. So lets say it together: “Wohooo!”

 http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/4374/img3641yi5.png

From left to right: Min Ji, who is my Korean host sister, Zuli, who is Norwegian/Turkish/Chinese and lives with Sue, my host mum’s cousin and at least Pie, from Thailand. Who lives with Zuli and Sue. These three are the ones I hang out with. And this picture is actually from the restroom in our church, before a concert we went to last friday. It was awesome.

 http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/7745/img3597dw5.png

This is Min Ji outside of our house! I really like it here.

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/8317/img3613qd1.png

This is our dog, Billy. She loves me because I give her too much attention. She likes to hide under weird things, like our car.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3420/img3618dg0.png

This is from the barbeque/orientation for the exchange students. Zuli and Pie are so cute. There were so many exchange students there and I introduced myself to all of them and when another student said that he was from Norway too, I didn’t realise what he said and asked him were he was from like two times. But it was major fun, and they had a swimming pool!

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/8317/img3613qd1.png

Also from the bbq/orientation. Left to right is Nics, from Thailand, he is in my Sr. Lit and Government class. He is really quiet. Then there’s Archie, he doesn’t go to our school. He is Thai too. Then Pie, Zuli, Min Ji.

http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/7176/img3643cs5.png

At church, before the concert mentioned above. Zuli, Min Ji, Pie. Then there’s Solamo who is one of the leaders of the youth group there, and sunday school. His wife, Jenni, is the other leader. Their children, Eric, Emily, Nick and Katie are also really nice.

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/9888/img3629eu2.png

Last picture! This is of Min Ji in our room.

School is going great. It was really stressful at first but now I’m getting used to how short the breaks are, where my class rooms are etc. One big surprise is that government is probably my favorite class. Mr. Hicks, the teacher, is hilarious. I also enjoy Spanish a lot. Que pasa?

I have some trips I hope I can do during the year. In november we are going to Chicago with the church. I reallyyy want to go to 3DYG in Ohio in December (Convention for young people, with church), I also want to do YIG (Youth in Government) in Lansing. I want to experience as much as possible while I’m here. I can talk on the phone and sit on the computer when I get home. Heh!

I got 18/18 on the marine biology quiz and 26/30 on a US history quiz. I enjoy US History and Spanish because the teachers always ask “What is it like in Norway?” whether we talk about 9/11, gas prices or the numbers from 1 to 20.

I’m kind of tired now, and I think Min Ji wants the computer. Good bye, peeps!

Weird, the last blog turned out blank. And I don’t remember what I wrote. Ah well.

I’m having such an amazing time! Bronson is an awesome town. I have met some many great people. Exchange students, in church, and at school.

The classes I have is:

Senior Literature and Composition

Chemistry I

Physical Education

U.S. History II

Connections III

Government

Spanish I

Sr. Lit is like English for seniors, and I have to take Government and U.S. History, but it’s so boring.

The classes are cool. They are 48 minutes long and then I have 4 minutes break between each class so it’s kind of stressful from time to time.

I love with a girl from South Korea, Min Ji. She is so cute and nice. Her English is not perfect but she’s learning really, really fast. I’m also a lot with some other girls, Pie from Thailand and Zuli from Norway. Zuli is in all my classes except P.E.

I’m sorry I haven’t been online except once. There’s a lot going on here, I go to church, I’m in a youth group (so much fun!), I go to school, I help with stuff at home and I have homework. Plus, the internet is really slow and I don’t have the password and I don’t like asking too often.

Parents and friends are only allowed to call twice a week (1x parents, 1x friends) so that kind of sucks. I don’t give my number here but if you ever want to call me then ask my parents, heh.

My host mum is great too, of course! She has supper finished for me and Min Ji when we get home (it takes one and a half hour with the school bus, gah) and it’s always delicious. My area representative is Bill and he is like really young. He is so fun to be with.

I am in Sr. Lit right now and I’m supposed to write about Arachne. Plus, I think the class is almost finished, so I have to hurry to Chem soon. I love you all, and miss you, take care!
