Hace frio!

Please keep in mind: This blog is open to the whole world and lots of my relatives come here. If you have something personal to say or a comment about something in the blog that you know I don’t want my relatives etc to know, please, e-mail me. thekidwithchemicals@gmail.com. Also, let me know if you want me to notify you when I update here!

Here I am again! This week has been quite busy. It’s homecoming week, so people dress up and stuff. Monday was 50’s, tuesday was 60’s, wednesday was 70’s, today was 80’s and tomorrow is purple-and-gold-day (School’s colours). I’m wearing my hoodie, which I bought last week! It has Bronson and it has the viking on it.

We’ll go to the game tomorrow, and then to the dance afterwards. Hopefully it’ll be fun!

I’m also looking forward to See You At The Pole next wednesday morning. Teenagers all around the world gather around their schools’ flagpoles and pray. Afterwards, we have breakfast in the parking lot.

I’m probably dropping Marine Biology because I really, really don’t like that class. It’s nothing like I imagined. And I talked to Jenni, one of the youth group leaders and she said I should join the Band, because they have no flutes! So hopefully I will and then I’ll drop Marine Bio and have English in that period instead.

And I bring pictures!

This is my youth group which I meet with every wednesday night, sunday morning and sunday night. They are all so nice. From left to right is Solano, one of the leaders, Danielle, Anna, Charlie, Micah, Paul and on the couch in front is Nathan and Eric. I have such a great time with these people.

Dinner last sunday. It was so nice. We had semolina pudding (semulepudding!) for dessert and everything. From left and around the table; Marilyn, Min Ji, Bill, Sue, Pie, Zuli.

Pictures!

Yes, I know you have been waiting for this. So lets say it together: “Wohooo!”

From left to right: Min Ji, who is my Korean host sister, Zuli, who is Norwegian/Turkish/Chinese and lives with Sue, my host mum’s cousin and at least Pie, from Thailand. Who lives with Zuli and Sue. These three are the ones I hang out with. And this picture is actually from the restroom in our church, before a concert we went to last friday. It was awesome.

This is Min Ji outside of our house! I really like it here.

This is our dog, Billy. She loves me because I give her too much attention. She likes to hide under weird things, like our car.

This is from the barbeque/orientation for the exchange students. Zuli and Pie are so cute. There were so many exchange students there and I introduced myself to all of them and when another student said that he was from Norway too, I didn’t realise what he said and asked him were he was from like two times. But it was major fun, and they had a swimming pool!

Also from the bbq/orientation. Left to right is Nics, from Thailand, he is in my Sr. Lit and Government class. He is really quiet. Then there’s Archie, he doesn’t go to our school. He is Thai too. Then Pie, Zuli, Min Ji.

At church, before the concert mentioned above. Zuli, Min Ji, Pie. Then there’s Solamo who is one of the leaders of the youth group there, and sunday school. His wife, Jenni, is the other leader. Their children, Eric, Emily, Nick and Katie are also really nice.

Last picture! This is of Min Ji in our room.

School is going great. It was really stressful at first but now I’m getting used to how short the breaks are, where my class rooms are etc. One big surprise is that government is probably my favorite class. Mr. Hicks, the teacher, is hilarious. I also enjoy Spanish a lot. Que pasa?

I have some trips I hope I can do during the year. In november we are going to Chicago with the church. I reallyyy want to go to 3DYG in Ohio in December (Convention for young people, with church), I also want to do YIG (Youth in Government) in Lansing. I want to experience as much as possible while I’m here. I can talk on the phone and sit on the computer when I get home. Heh!

I got 18/18 on the marine biology quiz and 26/30 on a US history quiz. I enjoy US History and Spanish because the teachers always ask “What is it like in Norway?” whether we talk about 9/11, gas prices or the numbers from 1 to 20.

I’m kind of tired now, and I think Min Ji wants the computer. Good bye, peeps!

Weird, the last blog turned out blank. And I don’t remember what I wrote. Ah well.

I’m having such an amazing time! Bronson is an awesome town. I have met some many great people. Exchange students, in church, and at school.

The classes I have is:

Senior Literature and Composition

Chemistry I

Physical Education

U.S. History II

Connections III

Government

Spanish I

Sr. Lit is like English for seniors, and I have to take Government and U.S. History, but it’s so boring.

The classes are cool. They are 48 minutes long and then I have 4 minutes break between each class so it’s kind of stressful from time to time.

I love with a girl from South Korea, Min Ji. She is so cute and nice. Her English is not perfect but she’s learning really, really fast. I’m also a lot with some other girls, Pie from Thailand and Zuli from Norway. Zuli is in all my classes except P.E.

I’m sorry I haven’t been online except once. There’s a lot going on here, I go to church, I’m in a youth group (so much fun!), I go to school, I help with stuff at home and I have homework. Plus, the internet is really slow and I don’t have the password and I don’t like asking too often.

Parents and friends are only allowed to call twice a week (1x parents, 1x friends) so that kind of sucks. I don’t give my number here but if you ever want to call me then ask my parents, heh.

My host mum is great too, of course! She has supper finished for me and Min Ji when we get home (it takes one and a half hour with the school bus, gah) and it’s always delicious. My area representative is Bill and he is like really young. He is so fun to be with.

I am in Sr. Lit right now and I’m supposed to write about Arachne. Plus, I think the class is almost finished, so I have to hurry to Chem soon. I love you all, and miss you, take care!
